James Kennedy and all of its awesomeness was on display for the District Principals and Vice-Principals meeting at our school earlier today. As they traveled from class to class, they popped in to see our students squirrelling away on laptops, iPads and working hard on their Bilingual Baking assignments as well as their Heritage Fair Projects. They also got to take in all Division 7s fantastic artwork, which was displayed prominently outside our classroom door. (See below) Once all the excitement of the administrators' visits has subsided, it was more of the same in the middle point of our day. Iah and Cole grabbed the laptop cart, and each student had time to continue to work on their projects, or brush up on their typing skills. After lunch, we took a break from the projects and had 30 minutes of silent reading, which also included a trip to the library, if need be, for those students who needed to get new reading books. To help invigorate them for the stretch run of the day, we bolted outside for 15 minutes of DPA, before retuning indoors to complete work and clean up.
REMINDER: Tomorrow is our presentation day for the Bilingual Baking Assignments. Please have your scripts ready, your baking supplies in hand, and be ready to start presenting as early as 10am. (A huge thank you to Mrs. Chappell & Mrs. Lietzmann for volunteering to come in to bake our goods while the students mix, prep and demo their recipes!)
NOTE: There are still a handful of students who have not handed in their Planetarium permission forms. If you have not, please get it to me as soon as possible. Also, we will require clean, empty 2 litre plastic pop bottles for one of the experiments we are doing while at the Planetarium, so if you have one or more, please send them to school with your child this week and next.
