The students got to put their geography, creativity, French and engineering skills to the test today in class. The morning began with a quick lesson on Canadian Geography using the maps they'd started on Tuesday. We reviewed the location of each of the Provinces and Territories, and asked them to try to memorize the Provincial, Territorial and National capitals. After a quick geography game, the class transitioned to working on their French projects. After recess the students were given the entire hour to engineer, design and tinker with their New and Improved Catapult designs. After 60 minutes of hot glue gunning, wrapping elastics and repositioning, they were ready to test the launching capabilities of their inventions.
REMINDER: Tomorrow is our Halloween Party. We will have regular (or a regular as we can make it) classes in the morning, we will be playing a Halloween themed trivia game after recess, then Carving pumpkins (or making paper Jack O' Lanterns) after the eating period, and capping our day with a in-class dance, and then clean up.
NOTE: As per the handout I sent out earlier in the week. Please no gory or overly scary costumes, no masks outside of the class, and absolutely NO WEAPONS whatsoever. Also please remind your child not to hand out candy until I give them the green light at the end of the day.
