Like the cat that came back the very next day, my head cold returned today with a vengeance, so kudos to all the kids for putting up with my endless coughing. Despite me not being on the top of my game, the students most definitely were. The day kicked off with our Quidditch, and after 3 exciting rounds of playoff actions, the finals were set, as Ravenclaw looked to defend its title versus a powerhouse Slytherin side. After surviving a triple overtime thriller versus Hufflepuff, Ravenclaw rode their momentum to the championship against the previously unbeaten Slytherin team, winning the 2018-19 title 5 - 3! Once the gym cleared out, there was just enough time to grab a quick snack before shuffling off for music. After recess, the class worked on their French phrases, their Reflex math, or continued with their coding, while I pulled students aside for some individual reading time. In the afternoon, the time was split up between finishing Robot Mazes or working on unfinished Art, typing assignments or Code.org activities.
NOTE: Tomorrow is our presentation day for our class Robot Mazes. The students have poured a lot of time and effort into theses assignments, and it is the perfect way to cap off our Coding week in Division 8!!
HOMEWORK: There is no homework tonight, but if you are able, please bring a dollar or two to donate to the coin drive tomorrow, as part of the JKE Holiday fundraising efforts to help support needy families in our community
