Our day began with some good old fashioned democracy in the classroom. We briefly discussed the "Student Vote" that we will be taking part in next week, before flexing our voting muscles in an impromptu class poll. The students were choosing between Math & doing a Gallery Walk with their "Me" Posters. Unsurprisingly, the gallery walk won out, so our day began with a Q & A session based on the student's "Me" posters. Once every student had the chance to both interview, and be interviewed by their classmates, we transitioned over to our Measurement Math package. (Attached as a PDF on the MATH page) After recess, we were fortunate enough to have the entire gym to ourselves, so the students played floor hockey. Once we got back to class, it was time to do some last minute studying for the spelling quiz. While admittedly, the Asian nations theme was not as challenging as previous spelling lists, I was very happy with the quiz scores this week. After lunch, there was 30 minutes of Read, Write, Draw or Play, and then Birthday Boy Alex handed out goody bags with puzzles to all the students, so they were given another 10 minutes to figure them out. We capped our day with cleanup, an abbreviated DPA, and some math games before dismissal.
