We put the students' spelling skills to the test this morning with a spelling competition for points. Impressively, the Canucks went 9 for 9 on spelling words, earning a whopping 41 points and propelling them into first place among the table groups!! After flexing their writing muscles it was time to turn our attention to our next class novel read-aloud. The students were presented 22 possible choices, and they were given 30 minutes to leaf through each of the books and to read the summary on the back cover, in order to choose their favourites. After about an hour of discussion, we narrowed it down to five: "The 13 Story Treehouse", "The War That Saved My Life", "Escape from Mr. Lemoncello's Library", "Masterminds", and "The Boundless." After recess, the class put their heads together to come up with a plan for next Wednesday's Halloween Party, (See the attachment below for more details.) then resumed our progressions for learning to play Quidditch in gym class. After lunch it was our usual, R.W.D.P. (you can ask your son or daughter what this means), before putting a cap on our day with a creative back story writing assignment, and some Reflex Math.
REMINDER: Tonight is the Spooktacular and tickets are available at the door. No overly scary or gory costumes, and absolutely no weapons allowed on school grounds.
HAVE A FANTASTIC WEEKEND! (Sorry for no photos, I forgot my phone at home today.)
