| The class worked really well today. We began our day with a trip outside to play a sentence relay race. The students were broken into 4 teams, and then raced against each other to relay sentences. The race got their brains in full gear, and it paid off with excellent focus and work ethic. The students wrote a French clothing quiz when we returned inside. After recess, a trip to visit Mdme. Gammel in the Library and lunch, the student continued to work on their Heritage Fair projects. HOMEWORK: Students need to study all 20 of their French clothing vocabulary, ahead of Wednesday's follow-up quiz. |
NOTE: I have posted more information about the Heritage Fair, and the upcoming 2 weeks! (See below)
Parents & Guardians of Division 8 students!
Thank you for your support over the past few weeks as our students have worked extremely hard to research, take notes, write and prepare their Heritage Fair Projects.
Many of you may have questions about what the following weeks will hold, and if there are any pending deadlines you should be aware of. I will do my best to lay out what the next few weeks should look like.
Monday, April 15th – Thursday April 18th: Students will have dedicated class time every day this week to work on their projects in class. I would encourage students to bring all their necessary supplies to complete their projects with them to school. **They will have access to our library, computers, iPads, and my help to complete their work. **
Friday, April 19th – Monday, April 22nd: EASTER BREAK
Tuesday, April 23rd: Final preparation day for students to work on their assignments in class.
Wednesday, April 24th: Finished projects will be set up in the classroom so that students can practice presenting their project, and answer questions from their classmates.
Thursday, April 25th: Students will set their projects up in the Library in the morning and begin presenting to other visiting students after lunch. Parents are welcome to come visit after lunch to see all the projects, but please remember to sign in at the office. ** I will be taking photos of the presentations and will post them to our class website for any parents who aren’t able to attend. **
Friday, April 26th: Students will present to the Heritage Fair judges in the morning, and then to the remaining visiting classes in the afternoon.
Based on the advice of the judges, myself and Madame Gammel will discuss the students’ presentations, and will propose a list of students to move onto the Regional Fair, which is scheduled for Thursday, May 9th. ** Students will be notified on Monday, April 29th. **
Please don’t hesitate to ask if you have any questions.
