It was definitely a Monday morning, as it took the class a good half hour to get our brains and bodies out of first gear. To help facilitate things, we played a warm up game of Alphabetical Hot Potato. After a few false starts, we finally got things pointed in the right direction and we were ready to move onto French. The class did a very good job of creating french phrases with their limited vocabulary , and based on their sentences I helped introduce some of the most common verbs. I have attached a small sampling of the student's phrases below as a photo. (Please note: the phrases are not conjugated or did I correct masculine or feminine, as I am simply trying to introduce the nouns & verbs, and not concerned with the correct conjugated forms at this point.) After recess, the students had library with Mme. Gammel. In the afternoon, we visited with our Lil' Buddies and the Grade 5's interviewed the Kindergartners for their Holiday stories, then helped them create reindeer art. When we returned to class, and handful of students helped decorate our Holiday Door Banner, while the rest of the class had DPA outside.
**THIS WEEK'S SPELLING WORDS ARE ON THE ENGLISH PAGE IF YOU WANT TO STUDY THEM EARLY.**
REMINDER: Tomorrow are the Intermediate Band Concerts, and the students are performing at 1pm, and again at 7pm. Students can come to class and quietly read, write draw or play board games as early as 6:30pm. **Please do not drop the students off earlier than 6:30pm**
NOTE: I will be discussing details of the Class Christmas party with the students tomorrow, but we will be doing a Gift Exchange this year, and not Secret Santa as in years past. Students have a max budget of $10, and need to bring their gifts unwrapped in a bag and dropped off to me to be wrapped. Participation is optional, but if there are any families who find this a hardship at this demanding time of the year, but would like their son or daughter to participate, please contact via email at: [email protected] (no explanation necessary), and I will ensure they are able to take part in the exchange activities.
