Our day started with a brief talk about coding and what it is. It had been awhile since we coded anything, but like ducks to water, the students jumped right in, and within minutes had their coding abilities on full display. Today's platform was Scratch Jr. which is a simplified, application-based version of Scratch a drag and drop coding program developed at MIT. They brushed up on their coding, because after lunch, they led their Lil' Buddies through their first ever coding lessons. I was super impressed by the class' patience and ability to clearly and accurately instruct the Kindergartners. GREAT WORK DIVISION 8!!!!
In the mid-part of our day, the students divided their time between working on their French Fashion Show scripts, and spending time in the Library.
NOTE: We have nearly all the Playland forms in, and tomorrow we are planning to divide the students up into Playland groups based on their level of comfort with Amusement Park Rides. Also, I have reached out to parents who've driven for us in the past, and we have 4 parents committed to driving on the 21st, but may be on the hunt for a couple more, so if anyone is interested, and can drive that day, please email me at: [email protected]
HOMEWORK: Students have until Wednesday to complete the rough copy of their French Fashion Show scripts. They should use a French-English dictionary or wordreference.com to write out in French the following information.
Voici, ___(student name)_____, il (he)/elle (she) a ____(age in years)__ ans. Il (he)/elle (she) aime _____(something they like) ____. ____(Student's name)____ porte ___(Clothing #1)_____, ___(Clothing #2)_____ et __(Clothing #3)_____.
**They should follow this format for each one of their models **
