Today's focus was on learning more about Remembrance Day. As promised, we spent the first hour of the day going into more detail about the origins and major players in the First World War. Shortly before snack break and recess, we discussed and reviewed this week's Remembrance Day themed spelling words. (List can be found on the ENGLISH page). After recess, the class divided, with half working on their Reflex Math, while the other half explored the Veterans Affairs Canada Remembrance site. ( http://www.veterans.gc.ca/eng/remembrance/information-for/students ) In the afternoon, we read the first chapter of "Escape from Mr. Lemoncello's Library.", then it was off to gum to learn the next step of Quidditch, the introduction of the "Snitch" and "Seekers". To complete our day of remembrance, we completed our poppies for our Remembrance Day assembly wreath.
