We covered a huge range of topics and subjects today, from French colours and numbers to classroom rules, to bad 80's video games. All in all, it was an excellent day in Division 8. The students continued to improve on and learn more French numbers and colours this morning. The students practiced by pointing out the colours of their classmates clothing, then played a dice game to refine their recall of the numbers, 1 - 12 in French. Following a quick game of Kickball, and a short recess break, the students returned to learn about the dismal failure of E.T. the video game. (You can read the story, and see some accompanying videos on the English Page.) In the afternoon, it was time to refine our typing and math skills, then we capped the day, by finishing our classroom rules posters.
HOMEWORK: Please complete your spelling word definitions and study for Friday's Spelling Quiz. Students who didn't get their "green light" in reflex math, should continue to work on reflex math online (with parental permission) until they achieve their daily math goal, and get their "green light."
REMINDER: Thursday is photo day, as well as Meet the Teacher Night. I will open my door to interested families between 6 - 7pm. It will be an informal evening to discuss our class plans for the year, my teaching philosophies, and my expectations and goals. It is NOT parent-teacher interviews, and our focus will be on the class as a whole, and not individual performance to date.
