Halloween took a bite out of our student numbers, as we had a half dozen students away today with a variety of Halloween and non-Halloween related illnesses. Despite the lower than usual numbers, is was still an active, busy and boisterous day. After another Quidditch test run with Mr. Chan's class, it was off to the music room to hone the students' Ukulele playing skills. Recess was inside again today, as it continued to rain cats and dogs outside. Following the indoor break, we reviewed our spelling vocabulary and checked for comprehension. At lunchtime, the students stayed indoors to eat their lunches and watched the end of Aliens in the Attic. For the afternoon, we voted on the class' favourite costumes from yesterday (Congratulations to: Gavin, Hayden & Ethan!), and then turned out attention to learning the basics of Blockly and coding Dash!!
REMINDER: Our skating program begins next Wednesday. Remember that Skates & Helmets are NOT included in the lesson costs. If your child does not have skates or a helmet, (a hockey helmet is preferable, but a bike or snowboarding helmet is okay) it might be a good idea to ask around to friends or family to see if you can borrow a set for the next six weeks. Alternately, local used sporting goods stores are a good option, or you can always send $5 each week for your to rent while at Sportsplex.
