I am really happy with the effort and focus the students put in today. It's easy to get caught up in the final few weeks of school, the sun, the field trips and all the distractions of the pending Summer holidays, but they put their heads down and gave a solid effort today. We completed their final literacy assessment of the year this morning, after watching some videos about Storm Chasers, and then reading an information booklet on the subject. (The videos are available on the Science page) After recess, I was able to sit and read with about a half dozen students, while other worked to complete their math fractions worksheets. We then did another review lesson on adding and subtracting fractions, and mixed fractions. After lunch I read with another half dozen students, then we headed to the gym to play Quidditch. More accurately, I watched the beautiful chaos of the game from the sidelines, and really enjoyed watching the students from our and Mr. Chan's class work so well together! We finished our day with some scribble art, and I read with a few more students before clean up.
HOMEWORK: Students need to finish their rough copy of their French Fashion Show script for Wednesday. They also need to have their fractions work booklets completed for marking tomorrow.
REMINDER: Please keep those Cultus Lake Waterslides forms coming in! I understand there was a glitch in the system last night that prevented some parents from paying online, but the issue has been fixed, and the online payment option should be working.
