With Halloween on the brain, it was tough to keep the class on task this morning, but the students persevered and pushed through a math lesson on measurement and scale. After recess, the class divided into two groups and one group began work on their Halloween Measurement Art decorations, while the other half worked through their Reflex math activities. After lunch the class read for a bit, then we read the first chapter of the "The 13 Story Treehouse", one of the novels we had been considering for our class read aloud. At 1:15pm we moved into the gym, and introduced "broomsticks" to Quidditch. Only the "beaters" used broomsticks today, and later in the week, we plan to introduce the "seekers" who will also ride broomsticks during the game. When we returned to class at 2pm, the students finished off their art work, and we decorated the class ahead of tomorrow's Halloween festivities.
