We kicked off our day with a games of Vocabulary musical chairs to help get them moving and thinking. Once the students were up and running for the day, we launched into answering comprehension questions about the storms we studied last week. After recess, we split the class in two, half worked on reflex math, while the others worked on a mapping exercise. The mapping was challenging for a number of students in the class, so what was intended to take a hour, morphed into an afternoon project. Considering it was the first time many of them worked on maps, they caught on quickly.
HOMEWORK: Students need to finish their ME posters, and finish activities A - E on their mapping assignment.
