I was impressed with the students' knowledge and sensitivity around the topic of Residential schools today. We continued to read and ask questions about the novel "My Name is Seepeetza", and we took time to discuss how the events in the novel, relate to our upcoming Orange Shirt Day. After that, we took time to put those ideas down, and make connections by creating an idea web. Following a busy morning of flexing our intellectual muscles, it was time to put our dancing skills to the test, as we were lucky enough to have a Zumba instructor come in and put our class though its paces. The remainder of the day saw us work on our Math, create sentences based on this week's spelling list, and design and colour t-shirt designs for Orange Shirt Day.
HOMEWORK: students should fininsh their Spelling sentences and their Orange Shirt designs.
REMINDER: Permission slips, and payment for out Skating program, as well as contact forms for our Room Parent are due.
