The students were fantastic today. After having been away for the day on Tuesday, they filled me in on what they had accomplished, and what was not completed in class on Tuesday. With the information in hand, we began our day by correcting the math measurement package that they'd begun last Friday. With the skies clear and the sun shining, we took it outdoors for a game of California Kick Ball. After recess, the class was divided into two, with half working on their Reflex Math fluency, while the other half crafted student profiles based on the information they'd collected on Friday, while interviewing their classmates. After half an hour we switched roles. In the afternoon, it was catch up time, with 40 minutes of that time being dedicated to working on their keyboarding skills. Once they'd completed their typing exercises, it was time to work on finishing their student profiles, or their Art Folders.
HOMEWORK: Each student (unless otherwise instructed) is expected to write 5 Student profiles. (YOU CAN FIND AN EXAMPLE ON THE ENGLISH PAGE). The profiles are due Thursday morning, and any student who forgets theirs at home will need to stay in at recess to work on re-doing their work, as we plan to do peer-editing later in the day.
REMINDER: There is no school this Friday, as it is a Provincial Professional Development day. Also, our Science World field trip is scheduled for next Tuesday, with Parent-Teacher conferences set for the following two afternoons.
