There's nothing like taking down a Submarine, or an Aircraft Carrier first thing on a Monday morning. It's even better when you can do it in French! The class began with a French Battleship game, that had them try to sink their classmate's fleet, while practicing their French colours and numbers. Needless to say, it was a lot of fun! After Cuirasse (Battleship), we turned our attention to learning more about the upcoming local election. We learning about candidates, nominations, electoral regulations and some of the guidelines around local and elections. We will dive a little deeper tomorrow, when we learn about Langley's three Mayoral candidates, ahead of Wednesday's student vote. In the mid-part of the day, the class paid a visit to Madame Gammel in the library, before returning for a shortened, but sunny, outside play break. In the afternoon, we did our daily reading, but cut it short, in order to share the class' ME posters with their Lil' Buddies, then to build some nature art outside, before a 15 play break with the kindergartners outside at the primary playground. When we returned to class for the end of the day, the students were given a measurement & perimeter worksheet, which they were allowed to work on with their table group partners.
